Waterfront properties don’t leave much room for error. This Mediterranean-style home in Marion sits right on the water — which means salt air, wind exposure, and a roof that has to perform year after year without issues. At 4,600 sq ft, the scope was significant: multiple sloped sections, flat roof areas, skylights, a chimney, and a long covered colonnade that wraps the front of the house.
We installed Brava composite Spanish barrel tile throughout the sloped sections. For a property like this, composite over clay was a straightforward decision — the look holds up, the weight doesn’t, and freeze-thaw cycles aren’t a concern down the road.
Every transition between the barrel tile and the flat roof sections was detailed carefully. On a coastal home this size, those junctions are where problems show up first if the work isn’t done right. The crew handled each one properly, and the finished roof matches the character of the home — from the lawn, from the water, and from above.
